About Me

G.C Sardiniabella

My name is Giovanni Cardia. I was born in the vibrant city of Cagliari and I currently live in Sinnai, a town in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. I created Sardiniabella.com to showcase the traditions, culture and natural beauty that Sardinia has to offer.

The Sardinia I Grew Up With

Growing up in Sardinia means things you only understand as an adult. As a child, I used to spend entire summer weeks at Torre delle Stelle, far from my neighbourhood friends, with the sea as my only companion. Back then, it sometimes felt like a punishment. Today I know it was a rare privilege, and I’m reminded of that every time someone tells me that Torre delle Stelle is one of the most beautiful places they have ever seen.

It also means having a grandmother who cooks sausage for you at eleven o’clock at night as if it were the most natural thing in the world, because in Sardinia, grandmother’s food has no timetable. It only knows occasions.

And it means setting off at dawn to reach a hidden beach after an hour of hiking, coming back at sunset with eyes full of sea, only to find that someone has taken a piece of your car. Sardinia gives and takes, often on the same day: it is part of the island’s character.

Education and skills

I graduated in Administration and Organization from the University of Cagliari, which gave me a solid methodological foundation for organizing and managing structured editorial projects. I then deepened my knowledge of digital communication by obtaining the certification as Online Marketing Manager for the sale of products and services, organized by Confcommercio Sud Sardegna and Ascom Emilia Romagna.

These skills don’t make me an expert in Sardinian botany or a vernaccia sommelier, but they guarantee me something equally important: I know how to build digital content in a professional, verified way that is oriented toward those who actually read it.

Cross-cutting Digital Skills

Over the years I have developed editorial experience across different verticals, from technology to lifestyle, managing projects such as Techgames.it. This cross-disciplinary practice allows me to bring to Sardiniabella.com a professional approach to content quality, SEO and user experience, without improvising.

I am always available to collaborate with institutions, pro loco associations, tourism operators and local media who want to tell Sardinia’s story in an authentic and accurate way.

My Mission

I want anyone who lands on Sardiniabella.com to feel a little Sardinian, if only for the length of a read. You won’t find only postcard beaches or the most well-trodden tourist circuits. You will also find village festivals that don’t appear in international guides, trails that deserve more attention than they receive, the cuisine eaten in Sardinian homes far more often than it appears on restaurant menus.

Whether you are planning your first trip to Sardinia or your tenth, here you will find content on beaches and coastline, hiking routes, festivals and traditions, food and local products, villages and inland areas. The problems of everyday life in Sardinia, those I’ll spare you.
